A stunning air video has captured a group of jellyfish off the coast of Israel. The country’s marine authority was examining the waters of the Bay of Haifa last month during the annual jellyfish migration when the boat was surrounded by the mass of tentacles, The Times of Israel reported.
The video shared by the park and natural authority of the nation showed a group of giant jellyfish that caused water to look white when viewed from above.
Park and nature authorities say that pollution and climate change increase the intensity of the flock of jellyfish. In a press release, officials stated that many things that humans did help spread jellyfish including excavation of the Suez Canal, polluting the sea with waste, climate change, and harming predators of jellyfish such as sunfish and turtles.
According to the Israeli era, most of the jellyfish visiting Israel are migrating and invasive species. They come from the Indian Ocean and are believed to reach Eastern Mediterranean through the Suez Canal. Tentacles are a threat to the Israeli power supply because they are sucked into a state power plant, which uses sea water for cooling.
Jellyfish are one of the first residents on this planet. Today they live in all the oceans and oceans of the world at every depth. Invertebrates have no brain and 95-98% water. Their tentacles can sting and inject poisons into humans, which usually produce mild to serious discomfort. In some rare cases, their sting can also cause extreme pain or even death.
