New Delhi: India today said that the escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine was a problem that was a great concern. At an emergency meeting called by the UN Security Council, India said that the priority must immediately become Deescalation from the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
“We need to make room for recent initiatives carried out by parties who seek to relieve tensions. “Escalation of tensions along the Ukrainian border with the Russian Federation is a more alarming problem. This development has the potential to weaken regional peace and security,” added Tirumu.
The UN Security Council called for an emergency meeting today after Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the independence of two separatist regions in East Ukraine.
India also emphasizes that it is concerned about the safety and security of civilians.
