The medication was also noted in its statement, the drug received the approval of the India General Drug Controller (DCGI), since several studies have found that it is a safer and more effective medication to treat mucormicosis. Both the Institute of Medical Sciences of India (AIIM) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have also recommended Posaconazole as an effective option to treat black fungi.

In addition, the antifungal medication has been erased for use in the United States also by drug and food administration (USFDA).

In India, cases of black fungi, which are commonly produced in the soil, have been detected in patients who have recovered from Coronavirus’s disease (COVID-19).
