Sweet Magnolias season 2 wraps filming in Georgia during the summer and is scheduled to arrive at Netflix in early 2022 (maybe January or February 2022 according to franchise writers). This series comes from Sheryl J. Anderson who is especially known for his fascinated work and binding bonds. The story is about the bond between three women because they all face their own unique challenges. The series was first announced back in 2018 and was released on Netflix on May 19 2020.

The closest we came to renew until the final announcement in July 2020 when GIF was posted by showing shows that it was difficult to work the following season.
The official announcement for Sweet Magnolias season 2 came on July 23, 2020.
On the update, Sheryl Anderson said the following:
“I’m happy and eager to go back with players and crews that I love. Really Valentine for everyone who works hard to make the tranquility of a beautiful place. Joanna, Brooke, and Heather and I jump up and down while sending SMS to each other, and We hope to do that over zoom too. “
How is Sweet Magnolia done on Netflix?
The good news is there is a lot of evidence that the show is performing well, especially in the United States.
In total, this series spent 33 days on the top US TV chart peaking in number one. In the UK, this series also performs well with 13 days at the top 10 TV chart.
On November 17, the show, according to the top 10, ranked in 99 in the most popular performances in 2020.
What is expected from Magnolias Sweet Season 2
Fans have many questions that go into season 2, especially after a dramatic season, one comes close, especially in the last 10 minutes.
The big cliffhanger at the end of season 1 is the result of a battle from a party after the prom. It caused a car accident and Kyle is currently unconscious. However, never revealed who passengers in the car so that’s the main question that leads to season 2.
Elsewhere, Maddie was tense with the fact that his former partner had suggested they give their relationship again while using his children as a good reason to try it.
Helen just separated from her repeated girlfriend, so it would be interesting to see what happened there mainly because she was desperate for a child.
Finally, the funds have their own problems trying to keep their business float and are now faced with the fact that he might have an alienated son who works in his kitchen.
Thanks to Sheryl Woods, we know season 2 takes “minutes” after the 1 finale season. He told Southern Living “There are many consequences for what you find in that scene.”

Deadline reported that Jamie Lynn Spears, Dion Johnstone and Brandon Quinn had been upped to series regulars for the second series as of May 2021.
On May 26th, we learned that Adelynn Spoon who has appeared in Tell Me Your Secrets and more recently on HBO’s Watchmen limited series will feature in season 2.
Other inclusions in season 2 include David A MacDonald as Stu.
Where is Sweet Magnolias season 2 in production and when will it be on Netflix?
Because of the pandemic, it wasn’t initially clear when production was going to start and Sheryll Woods, who wrote the books, stated that production was currently eyeing to start in 2021.
In February 2021, we learned that production teams were in Georgia mapping out the next season and in addition, Netflix planned for production to begin in Spring 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.
This turned out to be on April 6th with many cast members posting on their feeds about the return to filming. You can also see the show currently listed on the “Now Filming in Georgia” table which also currently lists Cobra Kai season 4, First Kill and Raising Dion season 2.
Before filming began, Sheryll Woods stated that the writing staff realized how desperate people for season 2 said: “Please know we poured our hearts into all new answers and questions in the center of season 2”. Sheryll then added that he didn’t know when exactly the season 2 would hit, said: “It’s hard to answer because we are still trying to find precautions that need to be taken and how it will have an impact on production speed,” he added “there are many unknown.”
Film making was officially underway in early April 2021. Many images have been posted by players and crews plus other public members since filming begins.
In July 2021, filmmaking was still ongoing with several photos set out on Twitter as below posted by Twitter County Rockdale feed (although since it has been removed).
While we wait, the cast does indeed have a big reunion on zoom throughout locking. Set aside time, because of the reunion for more than three hours!
Film Making concluded in mid-July 2021 with Joanna Garcia Swisher post on Instagram which revealed that she got make-up for the last day.
“Last day in the chair with my sister, @symartmakeup as we wrap up season 2 of #sweetmagnoliasnetflix ! Bitter sweet feelings because I’m going to miss this group so much. But I’m so proud and EXCITED for all of you to see what we have been cooking up in Serenity and can’t wait for this dream team of a cast and crew to (hopefully!) be reunited ASAP to continue the journey!”
As for when season 2 of Sweet Magnolias will be on Netflix, only a broad 2022 release date for the second season has been given so far. Our best guess is that it will be in either Q1 or Q2 2022.
According to Sheryl Woods back in August 2021, the series could debut on Netflix as soon as January or February 2022.
Norman Buckley who directed the majority of episodes in season 1 has confirmed to be directing in season 2.
Will there be a season 3 of Sweet Magnolias?
According to JoAnna García Swisher, the show fully intends to be back for a season 3 following season 2.
In an interview back in September 2021, the actress hints that season 2 will have a big cliffhanger just like the first saying “We end season two again with a lot of drama.”

It’s a feel-good Netflix show that dropped onto Netflix without much fanfare and is thankfully got a second and now a third season which is due to release in July 2021. A lot of people are comparing the show to Gilmore Girls which is an excellent series with both the original and the Netflix revival season still available globally.
