Former British Finance Minister Rishi S wasarized to win the most votes in the first round of voting to replace Boris Johnson as the leader of the conservative party and prime minister, when two candidates were eliminated.

Sung scored 88 votes, in front of Junior Trade Minister Penny Mordaunt in 67 and Foreign Minister Liz Truss in 50. Minister of Finance Nadhim Zahawi and former Cabinet Minister Jeremy Hunt were eliminated.

MP Kemi Badenoch received 40 votes, Tom Tugendhat received 37 and Sueella Braverman received 32.
