Facebook Meta Platforms Inc. has agreed to complete the lawsuit in the San Francisco Federal Court who sought compensation for leaving third parties including Cambridge Analytica accessing the user’s personal data, a court submission showed.
Financial provisions are not disclosed in the submission on Friday who asked the judge to postpone class action for 60 days until the lawyer for prosecutors and Facebook completed written completion.
The four-year-old lawsuit accused that Facebook violated the consumer privacy law by sharing the personal data of users with third parties such as the British political consultant which is now no longer there, Cambridge Analytica.
Facebook said the practice of privacy was consistent with his disclosure and “did not support any legal claim”.
Facebook and its lawyers from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher did not immediately respond to a request for more details regarding the settlement.
Of the two legal firms representing the plaintiff, Keller Rohrback did not comment while Bleichmar Fonti & Auld refused to comment.
