Italian Foreign Minister Luigi in Maio said the Taliban government in Afghanistan cannot be recognized but said Afghans must begin to receive frozen financial support after armed groups took power last month.
He urged a foreign government to prevent financial destruction there which will result in massive migrant flow.
The recognition of the Taliban government is not possible because there are 17 terrorists among the ministers, and the human rights of women and girls continue to violate, “said Maio to television belonging to Rai 3 on Sunday.
“Obviously, we must prevent Afghanistan from the explosion and from uncontrolled migration flows that can interfere with neighboring countries,” in Maio, who led the G20 Foreign Minister’s meeting in New York last week, said.
“There are ways to guarantee financial support without giving money to the Taliban. We also have agreed that part of humanitarian aid must always go to the protection of women and girls.”
Italy hold the G20 President and rotate and want to host a special summit in Afghanistan.
G20 countries, along with neighboring Afghanistan, are committed to fighting terrorism, and works to protect human rights, added in Maio.
On Friday, the United States Department of Treasury said issued two general licenses, someone who allowed the US government, NGOs, and certain international organizations, including the United Nations, to be involved in transactions with Taliban or Haqqani networks – both needed to provide humanitarian assistance.
The Taliban confiscated the control of the country last month when foreign forces allied with the US withdraw from Afghanistan after the 20-year war. The incident culminated in the capture of the capital, Kabul, on August 15, two decades after the Talibar was driven from power by US-led campaign after September 11 attacks in the United States.
The United Nations said that at the beginning of the year more than 18 million people – about half of the Afghan population – need assistance in the midst of the drought of the two countries in four years.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said last week that Afghanistan was on the “dramatic humanitarian disaster threshold” and had decided to engage with the Taliban to help people in the country.
