Recently Apple really only has one operating system for his smartphone and tablet. The birth of iPados – which is still based on iOS, of course – delivered in a new era for company tablets, converts iPad into a computing giant as it is today. For all purposes and objectives, iPados is iOS with different skin and a series of its own features, and no one might regret how they are closely related. However, for some unknown reasons, Apple seems to push slices between the two, putting the iPados on its own separate schedule behind iOS, simple changes that can have a significant impact for application developers who target iPhones and iPad.
There is no doubt in the minds of people that iPados and iOS are siblings. Although the iOS version that is centered on the tablet has its own character, most of them will only consider it a round of something that is completely different like MacOS. However, the close association might soon be interrupted, and Apple seems to have plans to grow iPado in a slightly different direction.
In a statement to Techcrunch, Apple explained that iPados will have its own release schedule starting this year. In fact, the iPados 16 will be launched after iOS 16, confirming previous rumors about delays. This is a rather surprising development that might have captured fans and especially developers who are unconscious, and it seems that Cupertino is cooking something that can make the iPados deviate a little more than iOS, at least in marketing the tablet platform.
iPadOS 16.0 is dead, long live iPadOS 16.1
This change began this year with the postponement of the release of iPados 16. In fact, the iPados 16.0 will never be released, spending directly to version 16.1 when arriving. A little problem is that Apple has not revealed when it will really launch iPados 16.1, only that will occur after the availability of iOS 16. Speculation points to the October release date – around Apple will launch a new iPad – as the right time for this.
For users, this schedule change may not be so important as long as they still get an update. Application developers, on the other hand, suddenly may find themselves at a confusing intersection and stress. Many iOS applications today are targeting both iOS and iPado in one bundle, and released together from both platforms make it comfortable to release application updates for both at the same time, well. However, with two separate release dates, this universal application must be postponed until the appropriate launch of the iPados version or launching with the potentially damaged or incomplete iPados application in bundle.
This must be something that must be handled immediately by Apple now because it has dropped this bomb for the developer. It is still strange that Apple will take unusual steps so that it will be a new strategy to move forward. The delay of this year’s iPados can be associated with improving bugs with a new stage manager feature, something that is trying to handle by the new iPados 16.1 Beta, but makes delaying the standard de facto for the iPados still sounds interesting and confusing.
