The Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar will make a 11 -day visit to the US starting Sunday to attend the UN General Assembly and participate in the Quad, BRICS meeting and several other main grouping.
He is also scheduled to hold talks with US Secretary Antony Blinken and other senior officials from the Biden administration.

S Jaisankar will be in New York from 18 to 24 September, while he will visit Washington DC from 25 to 28 September, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA).

In New York, the Minister of External Affairs (EAM) will lead the Indian delegation for “High Level Week” in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (Unga), he said.

The 77th Unga theme is “DAS Moment: Transformative Solution for Locking Challenges.” Jaisankar’s address in the Unga session is scheduled for the afternoon of September 24.

“In accordance with India’s strong commitment to reform multilateralism, Eam will host the meeting of Minister G4 and participate at the high -level meeting of the L 69 regarding” Multilateralism mobilizing and achieving the comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council, “MEA said.

While G4 consists of India, Brazil, Japan and Germany, the L.69 group consists of developing countries from Asia, Africa, Latin America, developing countries Caribbean and small islands with a focus on reforming the UN Security Council.

To commemorate and exhibit Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, S Jaishankar will handle the special event ‘India@75: featuring the UN Partnership in the’ September 24th Action, which will highlight the journey of state development and its contribution to South-South Cooperation, The South-South, The MEA said.

The event is expected to be handled by the 77th President of Unga, together with the Foreign Minister from several member countries, and the UNDP administrator.

MEA said Jaisankar “will also participate in the meeting of Plurilateral Quad, IBSA, BRICS, India-President Pro Tempore Celac, India-Karacom and other trilateral formats India-Indonesia-Australia.” IBSA is a forum that unites India, Brazil and South Africa.

BRICS (Africa Brazil-Russia-India-China) has emerged as the main grouping.

The BRICS meeting is expected to be attended by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Russian colleague Sergey Lavrov.

MEA said Jaisankar will also hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister from G20 countries and UN member countries, among others.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the 77th President of the UN General Assembly CSABA Corrosion.

After completing the involvement that is not related to Unga, Jaisankar will visit Washington DC for bilateral meetings with the interlocutors of the US.

“The program includes, among others, discussions with his colleague secretary from the state of Antony Blinken; senior members of the US administration, US business leaders, a round table that focuses on S&T and interactions with the Indian community,” MEA said.

“Eam visits will allow a high level of review of the multifaset bilateral agenda and strengthen cooperation on regional and global problems to further consolidate Indian strategic partnerships,” he said
