The Canadian government said on Thursday it would direct more resources to the first police and handle systemic racism in the justice system and law enforcement to overcome the violence against traditional women, but did not provide a time frame to achieve “transformative changes.”
The government promises to provide a customer community to control several social services and increase access to health services. The plan came two years after a report on the death of more than 1,000 women and original daughters in recent decades called it national genocide.
The government said it would discuss systemic racism among the royal Canadian police installed, the National Law Enforcement Agency responsible for applying for many rural areas in the country, through increasing recruitment and training.
“The plan is good, but what we need is an action,” said Denise Pictou-Maloney, Co-Cure of the National Family and Survivors Circle, who played the role of advisors in the plan. He said he wanted to see some changes within one year, and the accountability mechanism ensured the action was taken.
The plan came out as the discovery of the remains of 215 children in the former shocking housing school and reminded the nation of indigenous peoples.
The Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2015 stipulates that Canada has carried out “cultural genocide” by forcing more than 150,000 custom children to attend housing schools throughout the country between the 1870s and 1990s.
The housing school system is intended to assimilate the original children into Canadian society and eliminate what state officials at that time were described as “Indian problems”; Children are forcibly separated from their parents and brothers, beaten because they speak their native language, and suffer from malnutrition, physical violence, forced labor and sexual harassment.
