Short introduction
German planner Luigi Colani is a world star in his profession. He designed a number of things a day, including airplanes and cars. He developed his own special style, which he was baptized “biodesign”. By doing so, it emphasizes the organic appearance of the product it plans. It is very popular in Japan and Chinese, but also around the world.
Early life
Luigi Colani was born Lutz Colani in Berlin in 1928. His father was Switzerland, his mother Poland. From an early age, his parents are very important to promote their creativity. So they don’t buy it toys, but allows it to make their own toys. So he learned to solder before school and had to deal with various materials such as wood, plaster or clay.
At the end of the second world war, Colani must serve as an anti-aircraft helper. From 1946 he learned the statue and painted, which he did not finish, because Luigi Colani thought he was better than his teacher.
Because of that he even learned aerodynamics in Paris from 1949 to 1952 and then analytic philosophy, also in Paris. This was followed by involvement with aircraft manufacturers and car manufacturers. When he designed his first GT sports car for Alfa Romeo in 1957, he changed his name from Lutz to Luigi.

In principle, the fact that his name has become a synonym for an elegant design, curved, and living far beyond the world of design can be described as its biggest success. Many of his awards, who entered the dozen, did not mean less for him than that he could help shape his environment in accordance with his idea.
The famous works by Luigi Colani are MIS. B. Colani’s eggs in Lünen, Canon T90 cameras and various series of ceramic products. He also designed a PC with a round edge and even piano, Pegasus piano.
Amazing facts
Luigi Colani married a Chinese woman from the 1990s. He also has two sons, one of which also works as a designer. From 1995 to 2002 he lived in Shanghai, then until his death in Karlsruhe. He is a consultant for Airbus for a while, which is why he bought a castle near Toulouse.
His hobby besides his work diving. Colani once said that one third in his life occurred under water. After his death on September 16, 2019, he was buried in the main burial honorary page in Karlsruhe.
