British couples reach gold when renovating their homes. They found extraordinary deposits from 264 gold coins under the kitchen floor, according to The Times based in the UK. The North Yorkshire couple will soon sell this ancient coin for 250,000 pounds (Rs 2.3 Crore). The collection will be sold through auction, which is handled by Spink & Son, the outlet said further. The couple, who had chosen to remain anonymous, had lived in the same house for 10 years.
The landing of gold coins came from more than 400 years, and was discovered in 2019.

“It’s fun to see what they appreciate in the public market,” Gregory Edmund, from Spink & Son, was quoted as saying in time. “I am confused thinking about the auction comparable to the size of this British gold coin at one time,” he added.

Extraordinary discoveries were made when the couple lifted their 18th century property floor boards in Ellerby Village. Coins found in metals can be buried only six inches under the concrete.

The couple initially thought they had crashed into an electric cable, but when they lifted the floor, they found a coin deposit in a cup that had the same size as Coke Can, Times said further.

When the couple checked the mistress, they found gold coins from 1610 to 1727, during the reign of James I and Charles I. These coins were believed to be the property of the merchant’s family who were wealthy and influential from Hull, said The Times.

At the end of last month, 86 gold coins worth around ₹ 60 lakh were discovered by workers while destroying and old houses in the Dhar Madhya Pradesh district.
