New Delhi: There are no chemical weapons or weapons of other mass destruction of Ukraine developed in Ukraine, the country’s president said today, warned Russia that the use of biological weapons to his country would invite “the most severe sanctions”.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s President’s reaction came after Russia accused his country to conduct research in the development of biological weapons.

“I am an adequate state president, an adequate nation. And the father of two children. And there are no other chemicals or weapons of mass destruction developed on my land,” Zelensky said in a video posted on Friday morning.

“The whole world knows that. You know that. And if Russia does something like that to us, it will get the most severe sanctions response,” he said.

In the television broadcast briefing on Thursday, Russian Ministry of Defense spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the purpose of the study – which he said was funded by the US – was to build a mechanism for the deployment of deadly pathogens that were secretly. “

Konashenkov claims the ministry has obtained documents detailing US military-biological activities in Ukraine, including Ukrainian biomaterial transfers abroad.

He said Washington “plans to conduct research on birds, bat and reptile” pathogens, as well as on African pig fever and anthrax.

“Bio-Laboratories established and funded in Ukraine have experimented with a sample of Bat Coronavirus,” added Konashenkov.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a press conference later after talks with Ukrainian partner Dmytro Kuleba repeated the claim, said Washington had funded the development of biological weapons in Ukraine.

“Americans do this work in complete confidentiality. Just like how they work in other Soviet countries, create their military-biological laboratories along the Russian border,” he said.

Both Washington and Kyiv have denied the existence of laboratories intended to produce biological weapons in the country, who have faced Russian attacks by tens of thousands of troops since February 24.

Russia has repeatedly accused the United States secretly carrying out biological experiments in the laboratory in Georgia, the former Soviet Republic of other, such as Ukraine aimed at joining NATO and the European Union.
